Gossip and Miscommunication

Gossip is information based on personal and third party observation, embellished with emotional critique. The majority of gossip is fiction; factional or individual. But sieved gossip can deliver vital intelligence if the emotional twist is rinsed away by harsh perception. In fact, by listening to gossip and hearing the gist of the story tells more about the person telling it than the subject; a weakness, or perhaps their strength to talk at all, is a useful tool, but do not misconstrue the fact that you are hearing it as an element of trust. Gossip requires little drive, energy, and direction. It is plainly there no matter what’s going on.

Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact.
Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth
– Marcus Aurelius
