Low Ground – Knowledge PoorFate and duty has it that you are in the low ground. You know little or nothing. Anyone can attack you. If you wish to move from the low ground into a particular area, study and make an ally in that area. If you have to defend the low ground, use any tactic which evades conflict in the low ground – after all, you know nothing or not enough to be accountable for it. If someone is out to squash you, and they can, they will. Move the nature of the conflict to another area where you hold the high ground, or move it to the middle ground; this will give them the impression that conflict is on a level playing field and may not lead to their definite defeat. If you are stuck and in doubt, pacify them. Do not be afraid to admit you were wrong – after all, this is the low ground. If you have nothing left to offer and the low ground is your domain, see the section ‘Defence From Above’. Mastering the low ground is as important as mastering any other ground because it is the staging area for larger conflicts. A Superior will ask an Inferior for their view on something simply because the Inferior is inexperienced, and in no position to source the knowledge they need, and because of these factors their reply will be the answer the Superior craves to prove their point to their Superior. The Inferior in the Low Ground may take a calculated risk on what little they know, but if their little piece of knowledge is found to be wrong, it will temporarily stain their career. Don’t defend what you don’t know. Reality: Three words that can change your life: “I don’t know.”
