Conflict Decides and EntertainsConflict also erupts because something has to be decided, someone has to be on top, someone has to know their place. Furthermore people like the entertaining spectacle and will sit back, watch conflict prepare itself and applaud it into the arena, cheer the fight and even weep as the defeated (or what is left of them) is carted off. If there are no apparent reasons for conflict, if something simply shatters the sterile fragility of the friendly office facade, do not be alarmed. Things erupt from the slightest provocation because we are social creatures; we crave drama and if an office is in a state of peace, start something. Push a few buttons. Arouse some extreme people into action. Create a little conflict and see if you can control it, after all you only live once. You may unwittingly be creating conflicts, you may fancy yourself as a great mediator, and you may like to unleash your sharp tongue. What would life be like without proving your true traits?
