The Prize - Just Give Me the Money |
Just Give Me the MoneyResponsibility, accountability, status, and security are short-lived – they last as long as the job – whereas money is what people really treasure. Used wisely, money lasts longer and is easily converted into something of more value. Enough has been said about money. There are many arguments and books about money: how to make it, share it, eat it, shit it, and recycle it. There’s no shortage of people out there ready to take your money and we can all agree there’s a sucker born every minute. This doesn’t just refer to paying too much; it also refers to not earning enough.
Concentrate on the money you get for your worth and ignore the petty criminals on the streets stealing wallets and the corporate racketeers in boardrooms fleecing the majority. What’s mundanely obvious is that the more valuable you are the more you get rewarded, but remember that value equates to perception, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Naturally, in the office, people reach a point whereby they wise up and want remuneration for the time they spend there, not something token, but a significant slice from the pie that is baked to reward the office. So life in the office becomes a race to prove, even if the merits are artificial, who is more important and thus entitled to dive their hand into the purse of profits.
The Prize is the turn in a game whereby we can reward ourselves the most while everyone else is still learning the rules.
